From immediate relief to long-term empowerment
What began as an effort to provide sanitary towels has grown into a wider commitment to educational support, child wellbeing, advocacy, and community-led opportunity for girls and young women.
Sister For Sister Kenya is a registered non-profit organization advancing the wellbeing of girls and young women through education support, menstrual dignity, community partnerships, and practical pathways to long-term opportunity across Kenya.
To advance access to quality education, menstrual dignity, protection, and life-changing opportunity for girls and women in underserved communities across Kenya.
We work hand in hand with families, schools, community organizations, public institutions, and partners to deliver support that is practical, trusted, and rooted in local realities.
A Kenya where every girl can learn, thrive, lead, and pursue her future with dignity, confidence, and the support she deserves.
Sister For Sister Kenya was registered in October 2014 and began with a simple but urgent response: helping girls stay in school with access to sanitary towels and educational support. Over time, that response has grown into a broader community-centered organization supporting children, caregivers, adolescents, and young women through education, dignity, advocacy, practical assistance, and partnership-led development.
Too many girls still face barriers that should never define their future: poverty, interrupted schooling, lack of sanitary support, and limited access to safe opportunities. We exist to help remove those barriers.
We listen first, partner locally, and respond practically. Our work combines direct support with community mobilization, referrals, advocacy, and relationship-building so impact can continue beyond a single intervention.
We collaborate with communities, children’s homes, schools, county and national institutions, ministries, NGOs, faith-based actors, and private-sector partners to build stronger, more sustainable support systems.
Our work is shaped by the everyday realities girls and families face, and by the practical systems communities need in order to move forward.
Helping girls remain in school through learning materials, uniforms, fees support pathways, and a stronger environment for academic progress.
Ensuring that menstruation never becomes a reason for missed school, shame, isolation, or reduced confidence.
Strengthening access to health information, hygiene support, reproductive wellbeing, and safer pathways to care.
Working with caregivers, children’s homes, schools, and local institutions so responses are trusted, coordinated, and sustainable.
Our flagship child support program serving 60 school-going children with meals, educational materials, uniforms, books, sanitary supplies, and consistent care that helps them stay in school and thrive.
Providing face masks, hygiene supplies, and sanitary support to children in homes and vulnerable communities to protect health, dignity, and continuity in learning.
Supplying books, uniforms, stationery, and other learning materials to children in children’s homes and vulnerable households so financial hardship does not keep them behind.
In partnership with Strive for Education, this initiative expands access to digital learning tools, computers, reading spaces, and books that prepare children for a changing world.
We are developing a reproductive and community health response for girls and young women in Nairobi, with a focus on closing urgent health access gaps in underserved communities.
Our founding cause remains central to our work: ensuring menstruation never becomes a reason for a girl to miss school, lose confidence, or be denied dignity.

For more than a decade, our work has combined compassion, community trust, and steady action to keep showing up where girls and families need us most.
Our work is about more than giving items. It is about restoring confidence, protecting dignity, and making sure girls can keep learning without barriers that should never define their potential.
“Support at the right time can change whether a girl falls
behind or keeps moving forward with confidence.”
A reflection that guides our work with girls, caregivers, and community partners.
Uniforms, books, sanitary towels, food support, and digital learning tools all remove barriers that affect daily life and long-term opportunity.
We work through homes, schools, caregivers, and partners because lasting change grows through trusted local relationships.
Every intervention aims to move from immediate relief toward stronger wellbeing, education continuity, and life choices.
Our work is not only measured in numbers. It is also seen in the stories, partnerships, advocacy moments, and community milestones that continue shaping the journey ahead.
What began as an effort to provide sanitary towels has grown into a wider commitment to educational support, child wellbeing, advocacy, and community-led opportunity for girls and young women.
Through charity events, donations, and community mobilization, we have continued supporting care institutions including St Monica Roysambu, Msamaria Mwema Children’s Home Kabete, KNH, and St Teresa Narok.
We participate in advocacy spaces such as the International Day of the Girl Child, the Day of the African Child, community campaigns, and public events that amplify the needs and potential of girls.
Our work is strengthened by collaboration across government, NGOs, faith-based networks, creatives, and private-sector partners including Start a Library Foundation, Fahari, Inua Dada, and other supporters.
Our ongoing feasibility work in Nairobi is helping shape a more holistic model of care for girls and young women, with reproductive health and community access at its center.
We want supporters, partners, and community members to understand not only what we do, but how we work, what we are learning, and where resources are needed most.
We are registered in Kenya and work through community partnership, responsible stewardship, and mission-driven leadership.
We share program needs, operational needs, and practical funding priorities so donors can give with confidence and context.
